Cutaway shoes 'good for glossy goths' - 25/12/2008
So-called "glossy goths" should be looking to cutaway shoes and boots to add the finishing touches to their outfit, according to Female First.
The publication explains that the modern, refined take on the traditional disenfranchised teenage look is not all about leather-clad clothing.
Rather, a trend towards lighter styles and other black fabrics is part of the new gloss on old gothicism.
"Lace is allowed, but only as an added accessory," readers are told.
"So invest in some lace-coated boots, leggings or even gloves."
"This look is all about leather leggings teamed with cutaway shoes and boots," the article adds.
Meanwhile, it seems black is not this season's black for those hoping to get in on the glossy goth action.
Despite being the overwhelming tone of the goth look, black is said to be giving way to accent tones.
These are typically monochrome, as two-tone black and white is identified as a good choice for newcomers to the goth style.
Alternatively, silver could be a perfect way to brighten up an outfit for Christmas without compromising on gothic principles.
Priceless Shoes could have the ideal footwear for anyone wanting to try the glossy goth look on a budget.
Style-setters planning on updating the look to suit their own preferences could find faux fur boots available in appropriate colours.
These include funky slippers in the form of white faux fur boots, priced at as little as £4 per pair. A 20 per cent saving on the previous low price is incorporated into this, with the funky slippers available in a range of sizes.
Or, to avoid the monochrome look completely, funky slippers in the form of spiked boots are also on sale at £7 - a 22 per cent reduction on their previous price.
While their white colour scheme is accented by pink, the spiky design is bound to add a fierce element to any dress code.
Promising "toasty warm toes", the Priceless Shoes product appeals even down to its name, Cake, which could make the faux fur boots seem tasty as well as toasty.
